Yoichi Watanabe

Yoichi Watanabe joined the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) in 1989. He has served as Agricultural Counselor at the Embassy of Japan in the USA, Director of the International Policy Division, and Director-General of the Export and International Affairs Bureau. Since 2024, he has been serving as Vice-Minister for International Affairs. 

He holds an M.Sc. in Foreign Service from the Graduate School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University, USA and a B.A. in International Relations from the University of Tokyo.
