Thomas Eriksson is the Director of the Department for Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and the Middle East Region, with extensive experience in development finance, climate policy, and operational strategy. He previously served as Head of the Technical and Climate Divisions at the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB), and has held senior positions across several international organizations. These include leading operational policy functions at the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and overseeing blended finance initiatives at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
Earlier in his career, Mr. Eriksson held various leadership roles within the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), including as Deputy Resident Representative in Mongolia. He has extensive operational experience across Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and the Middle East, and holds an MBA from the University of Gothenburg.
