H.E. Dr. Sok Silo has served as Secretary General of the Council for Agricultural and Rural Development (CARD) of the Royal Government of Cambodia since 2019. He is the country’s Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Government Focal Point (since 2014), National Food Systems Convener (since 2020), and Secretary of the Technical Working Group on Food Security and Nutrition (since 2013).
Previously, Dr. Sok Silo was Deputy Secretary General of CARD for 12 years, Director of Administration for nearly a decade, and Private Secretary to the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries for five years.
He has played a central role in shaping Cambodia’s policies and strategies on agriculture, food systems, food security, and nutrition, leading national dialogues and consultations that produced the National Strategy for Food Security and Nutrition, the Cambodia Roadmap for Food Systems for Sustainable Development 2030, and the Country Operational Roadmap for the Global Action Plan on Child Wasting.
