Sanath Ranawana is a Director in the Agriculture, Food, Nature and Rural Development Sector Group of the Asian Development Bank. He has over 30 years of experience working in the areas of natural resources management, environmental sustainability, and climate change, agriculture and irrigation and rural development. He currently serves as Director of the Natural Capital and Climate division which supports ADB’s operations in natural capital across Asia and the Pacific.
He has worked with several international development organizations including the Asian Development Bank, the World Bank and the United Nations Environment Program. Sanath holds Masters’ degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA and the University of Texas at Austin, USA, and an undergraduate degree from the State University of New York, College of Environmental Science and Forestry.
