Mr. Pradeep Kumar is an Indian Forest Service (IFS) Officer and currently heads the Forest and Environment Department of Government of Sikkim in India. He is a PhD in ‘Remote Sensing and GIS based Modelling of Forest Carbon’.  He has done his Master of Technology in Civil Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Varanasi in India and professionally trained at International Agriculture Centre, Netherlands, University of California Berkeley and London School of Economics.  

He is an accomplished natural resource management professional with comprehensive experience in senior level positions in programme management and policy development in the field of forestry, environment, organic agriculture, digital agriculture and watershed development for mountain communities.  

Mr Kumar has wide ranging research experience and publications in peer reviewed journals to his credit in the field of ‘forestry and climate change’, remote sensing and GIS, modelling, biodiversity conservation and watershed management.
