Omer is a Principal Natural Resources and Agriculture Specialist at ADB. An economist, he holds a bachelor’s degree from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and a master’s degree from the University of Cambridge. Before joining ADB, Omer worked with IFAD and UNOPS, managing agrifood sector portfolios in around 35 countries across Asia, the Middle East, North Africa, the Balkans, the Caucasus, and Eastern Europe. His work focuses on regional and country-level policies, strategies, and investments in agriculture, food systems, nutrition, natural capital, and climate change.
