Monica Petri

Monica Petri is a Senior Agriculture Specialist at the Asian Development Bank (ADB), where she leads an inter-regional programs on digitalization and climate services for the agriculture sector across Asia and the Pacific. She is also responsible for the AIM Partnership as well as the Global Partnership on Weather Forecast for Farmers.

She holds a PhD from the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa, Italy, and has an extensive record of publications on modelling, climate data analytics, satellite-based assessment, and digital monitoring of land degradation. Prior to joining ADB, she worked with FAO and CGIAR, where she designed and implemented large-scale investments in sustainable agriculture and rural transformation across Africa and Asia, including leading the first climate change adaptation GEF portfolio that FAO developed in West and Southern Africa. In Asia her main countries of expertise are Vietnam and Laos. In Laos she lead the development of the Laos Climate Services for Agriculture (LaCSA) system.
