Basher, an Econ PhD, currently working on food and nutrition security and rural development issues. He started his career as an economic researcher before joining as an Econ faculty at Willamette University, USA. Basher also worked as an economist at the World Bank for 4 years before joining ADB. As a Senior Natural Resources and Agriculture Specialist, Basher contributes to ADB’s agenda of sustainable development and food system transformation by promoting investments in the rice-based system and horticulture value chain development in several countries. Currently, he is working to promote inclusive and climate-resilient farming in mountainous countries like Bhutan.
