Mr. Md. Abu Baker Siddique Bhuayan is Additional Chief Engineer at the Bangladesh Water Development Board, with extensive experience in climate-resilient water resources management. He previously served as Project Director for the ADB-funded Climate Resilient Integrated Southwest Project for Water Resources Management (2023–2025), which strengthened climate resilience, agricultural productivity, and food security through improved flood control, drainage, and irrigation systems. He also led the Southwest Area Integrated Water Resources Planning and Management Project, enhancing cropping intensity, rice production, and aquaculture within existing water management systems. Earlier, he implemented water infrastructure projects in Bangladesh’s haor wetlands, helping protect rice production from seasonal floods. He holds a Master’s in Disaster Management in the Water Sector from GRIPS, Japan.
