Martin Sullivan serves as Trade Commissioner at the Government of Canada’s Indo-Pacific Agriculture and Agri-Foods Office, a specialized initiative designed to expand Canada’s agricultural and agri-food presence in the Indo-Pacific region. Based in Manila, Philippines, he works to advance Canada’s trade interests by supporting market access, promoting Canadian agri-food products, and fostering strategic partnerships with governments, industry, and regional organizations.
Martin has built a strong career in international trade and policy. Prior to his current role, he served as Senior Market Development Officer at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, and as Deputy Director for CanExport SMEs at Global Affairs Canada. He also worked as a Trade Commissioner with Global Affairs Canada, where he supported Canadian businesses in navigating international markets. His earlier professional experience includes roles in economic analysis and policy advisory, giving him a broad perspective on trade, development, and market systems.
He holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Carleton University, complementing his expertise in trade policy and international development. Through his leadership at the Indo-Pacific Agriculture and Agri-Foods Office, Martin plays a pivotal role in strengthening Canada’s agri-food trade ties and advancing sustainable, inclusive growth in the region.
