As the Chief of the National Center for Fruit Development of Nepal, Mr Acharya brings rich experience in plant health and agricultural extension. Prior tohis current position, Mr Acharya coordinated the phytosanitary capacity evaluation of National Plant Protection Organization of Nepal. He was actively involved in the development of plant quarantine related modules of the Nepal National Single Window (NNSW) including linkages with the e-phyto hub of the International Plant Protection Convention. He is noted for his role in the identification and declaration of Fall Army Worm invasion in Nepal, and development of surveillance and management protocols and training manual for its integrated management. Mr. Acharya has over 30 years’ experience in a diverse field within the agriculture sector in Nepal, including agriculture extension and development, integrated pest management, plant quarantine, phytosanitary regulation and development of human capital.
