Kazuhiro Gono, Ph.D. has built a track record through the invention and commercialization of numerous new technologies in Olympus since 1992, including NBI, which is now widely adopted as a clinical endoscopy standard. And achievements in the medical device field were recognized with the Prime Minister's Award for Invention (2011), the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award (2016), and the Medal with Purple Ribbon (2017). Since April 2025, joined as an Executive Officer at Nissin Foods Holdings, leading Food Tech Innovation. Also holds positions as Visiting Professor at Chiba University and Specially Appointed Professor at Tohoku University.
