Kalyan Chakravarthy Guntuboyina has a diverse background in agriculture, environmental research, and international project management, complemented by strong capabilities in strategic planning and driving high-impact, solution-oriented initiatives. Currently serving as the Regional Manager, Asia at Wageningen University & Research, he plays a pivotal role in fostering partnerships and driving strategic initiatives across the region. 

With previous experience at Wageningen Environmental Research as a Senior Researcher, Kalyan led international projects focused on Metropolitan Food Clusters’ development and Climate Smart Agriculture, showcasing his expertise in sustainable practices and innovative solutions. His extensive knowledge of Public-Private Partnership models was instrumental in fostering collaboration across government, industry, and research institutions to advance high-impact initiatives. 

Kalyan holds an MSc in Genetics and Plant Breeding along with an MBA, giving him a blend of scientific knowledge and business skills that shape his transdisciplinary approach to sustainable development and innovation. 

Prior to joining Wageningen, Kalyan held senior management and leadership roles at renowned organizations such as BASF, Rabobank International, YES Bank, and IFFCO, where he contributed significantly to strategic initiatives and business growth. 

In addition to his professional achievements, Kalyan has actively contributed to various advisory and honorary roles. He has served as a Member of India’s Planning Commission working group on Animal Husbandry and Livestock and as the Convener of the Agrobusiness sub-committee of the Indian Banks Association.
