Jiangfeng Zhang is the Director of the Central and West Asia Team in the Agriculture, Food, Nature, and Rural Development Sector Office at ADB. Since joining in 2002, he has led and supported agriculture, natural resources, and rural development operations across Central and West Asia, East Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia, and the Pacific. His work centers on advancing inclusive, climate‑ and disaster‑resilient, and environmentally sustainable agriculture to strengthen agrifood systems, competitiveness, and food and nutrition security in the region.
Jiangfeng has directed several of ADB’s pioneering flagship programs, including the institution’s first new‑generation policy‑based lending and first results‑based lending operations in the sector, as well as ADB’s first climate change policy‑based loan and first low‑carbon agriculture development program. He also leads major regional initiatives such as the Glaciers to Farms Program and nutrition‑sensitive investments. He holds a PhD in Agricultural and Resource Economics and an MS in Statistics from the University of California, Berkeley.
