Dr. Jeevan B, IAS is a senior Indian Administrative Service officer who currently serves as Secretary to the Government of Assam in the Departments of Innovation, Incubation & Start-Ups and Housing & Urban Affairs, and Chief Executive Officer of the Flood and River Erosion Management Agency of Assam (FREMAA), overseeing projects aimed at addressing flood control, river erosion management, and climate-resilient water infrastructure in the Brahmaputra basin.
Trained as a medical doctor (MBBS) before entering the civil services, Dr. Jeevan B has built a reputation for combining technical expertise with data-driven governance and institutional reform. Over the course of his administrative career, he has held several key roles in the Government of Assam, working across district administration, innovation policy, disaster and flood management, and urban development.
Earlier in his career, he served as Deputy Commissioner of Dhemaji and Lakhimpur districts, where he led district-level governance, development planning, and disaster-response initiatives in flood-prone areas of upper Assam. His tenure focused on strengthening local administration, improving service delivery, and coordinating development programs with state and central government schemes.
