Ganesh has been a Food & Agribusiness sector banker, for the large part with Rabobank International. Presently, he works with the Agribusiness Investments Team of ADB.
Ganesh began his career in the Farm Inputs sector, with businesses belonging to the TATA and Godrej groups in India. His professional interest lies in assignments that are at the intersection of Science, Business, Finance, and Sustainability in Agriculture. He holds a master's degree in Agricultural Sciences and Agribusiness Management.
Ganesh hails from the Kuttanad region of Kerala, Southern India where the farming system is a ‘Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System’ as designated by the FAO. His other areas of interest lie in Farmer Collectives, Conservation (traditional Art, Natural vegetation etc.), and is closely associated with a farmer group in Kuttanad practicing Natural Farming.
