Daniel P. Loucks is an emeritus professor in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Brooks School of Public Policy at Cornell University. His research and teaching have focused on the development and application of ecology, economics, engineering, and systems analysis methods to the solution of environmental and regional water resources and various public policy problems. He has held positions in other universities, research institutes, and government agencies in the US, Australia, Europe, and North America, and in UN agencies, NATO, and the World Bank. He has participated in water development projects in various countries in Africa, Asia, the Americas, and Europe. He is a recipient of a Senior U.S. Scientist Research Award from the German Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, a distinguished member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and a member of the US National Academy of Engineering.
