Dr. Choomjet Karnjanakesorn had a diverse education and career backgrounds by working with the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives (MOAC) of Thailand for 20 years which focused on agriculture, food, and natural resources sustainable development. He, then, joined the Mekong River Commission (MRC) on water resource management, water law and regulations in the lower Mekong River Basin based in Phnom Pehn, Cambodia, and Vientiane, Lao PDR for five years. He also worked as the Minister Counselor (Agriculture) at the Royal Thai Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia emphasized on the ASEAN context for agriculture, and sustainable development, food security, intra and inter trade of ASEAN for eight years. Eventually, he was designated as Minister (Agriculture) at the Royal Thai Embassy in Brussels, Belgium to expand his experiences to European Union context on the EU green deal policy and implementation, trade, food security, agricultural development, food security, and sustainable development. Currently, he has been working as the General Manager of the APTERR Secretariat since 2022 focusing on food security, natural disasters, poverty alleviation and humanitarian assistance.
