Atish Chandra, an Indian Administration Services of the 1994 batch, served as Special Secretary in the Prime Minister’s office (PMO). He brings over three decades of administrative and policy experience across agriculture, rural development, disaster management, and governance. He holds a B.A. and an M.A. in Political Science from Delhi University. He took over the charge of Secretary MoAFW with effect from 1 March 2026.
