Alvin Lopez is an expert in nature-based solutions, environmental policy, and sustainable development with over two decades of experience working across Asia and globally. His work focuses on mobilizing finance for nature, natural capital management, water resources, agriculture and food systems, coastal and marine ecosystems, and biodiversity conservation. 

At ADB, he currently leads the Nature Solutions Finance Hub and has worked extensively on supporting the design and implementation of development programs across the region. He previously led ADB’s agriculture, food, nature, and rural development portfolio in Cambodia, overseeing initiatives in water resources management, irrigation, fisheries, ocean health, and natural capital. He also led ADB programs in the People’s Republic of China and Mongolia, supporting river basin restoration, wetland conservation, soil pollution management, biodiversity protection, and green development policies including eco-compensation mechanisms. 

Prior to joining ADB, Alvin held leading roles in several international organizations including UNDP, Wetlands International, IUCN, and WWF.
