Akshita Sharma is the India Climate Adaptation and Biodiversity Focal Point at the Asian Development Bank (ADB), where she works on advancing climate-resilient and nature-based investment programs across sectors including biodiversity, forestry, and natural capital in India. She engages with national ministries and state governments to support the development of sovereign projects and technical assistance that integrate climate adaptation, ecosystem restoration, and biodiversity conservation into development planning. Her work focuses on strengthening climate resilience through ecosystem-based approaches and facilitating climate-aligned investments. Prior to joining ADB, she worked as a Biodiversity and Blue Economy Specialist at Agence Française de Développement (AFD), South Asia. Earlier, she worked with Nutrition International on sustainable agriculture and nutrition programs across South and Southeast Asia. She has around 10 years of experience in climate adaptation, biodiversity conservation, forestry, natural capital, and sustainable agriculture.
