Adnan Rafiq is a Senior Investment Specialist in the Private Sector Financial Institutions Division at the Asian Development Bank (ADB), where he has led numerous transactions across South Asia, Central Asia, and Southeast Asia. He played a pivotal role in deploying the We‑Fi grant in Vietnam, enabling banks to expand lending to women, develop new products for women‑led SMEs, train staff on gender‑specific needs, and enhance systems to generate sex‑disaggregated data. His work aligns closely with ADB’s strategic priorities of reducing poverty, promoting gender equality, and addressing climate change. Before joining ADB, Adnan built extensive private sector experience with Credit Agricole’s investment banking arm, focusing on equity markets and M&A transactions. He holds an MBA in Finance from LUMS and is a graduate of University College London.
