Fatima Yasmin joined Asian Development Bank (ADB) on 1 September 2023 as Vice-President for Sectors and Themes. She oversees strategy and operations of ADB’s eight sectors and key thematic areas.
Prior to joining the ADB, she had a distinguished civil service career spanning over 32 years with the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. She was the first female Senior Secretary of the Finance Division in Bangladesh's Ministry of Finance. She worked extensively for economic management of the country and resource management of the government.
She holds a master’s degree in development economics from Australian National University and a Master of Business Administration from the Institute of Business Administration, Dhaka University, in Bangladesh. She also received a Fellowship in Public Policy and Human Rights under the Hubert Humphrey Fellowship Program at Rutgers
University in New Jersey, United States.
